Understanding Under Represented Gifted/Talented Populations

June 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

A professional development workshop presented by Heather Rivera.

A historical perspective of Gifted and Talented Education will be presented. High ability learners span all cultures, races, classes, and backgrounds. However, our nation often fails to identify and serve students who are the most disadvantaged. Gain an understanding on why it is essential to identify those from typically underrepresented groups such as: children of poverty, twice exceptional gifted students, and second language learners.

Heather Rivera will be presenting this workshop free of charge.

This workshop is open to anyone who would like to attend.  You do not need to be a UEA member to attend this workshop.

Don’t forget to register for this event, as seating is limited and will fill very quickly.
