Each year, UEA compares the salaries of degreed teaching professionals in our region. We compare salaries not only for new teachers starting out, but also at 5-year intervals, up to year 30.
On the following pages, you will find a comparison of area salaries. We believe such studies allow teachers to look ahead and make plans. We also know these studies are taken very seriously by administrators, board members, and teachers.
If you would like to download or print a PDF copy of our salary comparisons from this year, or from previous years, please use the links on the right side of the page.
Why Doesn’t UEA Include Salary Comparison For Those Who Are Not Teachers?
Unfortunately, the information is not available for most other job classifications. The only salary schedule required by the state is one for teachers. Everyone else is paid according to the minimum, midpoint, and maximum salaries of their pay grade. UEA is working on a way to obtain representative salaries for other groups so that we can use that information in next year’s salary discussions!
Update: In response to many questions submitted to the website regarding Plano salary comparisons:
Plano ISD does not have a traditional salary schedule that show years of experience and the corresponding salaries. They have instead opted for a pay range. The pay ranges consist of a minimum salary, a midpoint salary, and maximum salary. Therefore, we cannot determine and they are unable to provide what a base teacher salary would be for years 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30.
The Texas Association of School Boards have pushed school districts to adopt pay ranges instead of pay schedules. It has not become a widespread philosophy.
